On 15-17 June 2016 in Wroclaw University was held International Scientific Conference “17th Symposium of Questioned Document Examination”. Organizer of this event was Department of Forensic Sciences Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, University of Wroclaw (Poland).

Next topics were main subjects of the Symposium: 1) new methods in handwriting and questioned document examination; 2) contemporary trends in questioned document examination; 3) contemporary trends in handwriting examination; 4) handwriting examination versus graphology; 5) examination of initials and graphometry;6) pathology in handwriting examination; 7) examination of signatures; 8) specific character of testament examination; 9) control of qualifications of an expert witness; 10) current issues in questioned document examination (physical and chemical analysis of ink, toner, cross strokes, indented writing); 11) age of documents (problems with destructive and non-destructive methods).

Symposium worked only in plenary session. 70 participants came to this event from Brazil, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, India, Italy, San Marino, etc. Languages of the Symposium were Polish, English, Italian. Moderators of the first part of the Symposium were Prof. Dr. Habil. Zdzislaw Kegel and Dr. Rafal Cesla (Poland), they opened this important scientific event. Traditionally during symposium it was gicen not only scientific reports, but also lightning talks (posters). Symposium also had discussions. Next Symposium will be in Wroclaw (Poland) in 2018.
