International Association of Forensic Sciences is organized the 21st Triennial Meeting of IAFS in Toronto in August 21-25, 2017. The Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, the University of Toronto and Tourism Toronto were partners of this event. The Conference took place at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel (123 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M5H 2M9).

The IAFS encompassed academics and practicing professionals in the forensic specialties. Delegates specialised in Forensic Pathology and Death Investigation, Forensic Sciences,  Policing, Legal and Judicial Systems, Forensic Sciences/Policing/Legal and Judicial Education, Nurses.

iafs2IAFS has delivered an international conference every three years to allow the forensic community to meet and exchange ideas (since 1957).

Topics of the conference for the plenaries were: Forensic Issues in Human Migration, Practicing Forensic Science in Challenging Environments: International Perspectives, Major Case Management showcasing Ontario’s successful collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach to investigating high-profile and complex homicides.
