On 6-8 June 2018 in Wroclaw (Music Hall, main building of the University of Wroclaw, Poland) The Department of Criminalistics of the Faculty of Law, Management and Economics of the University of Wroclaw held XVIII Symposium of Questioned Document Examination. The event was attended by representatives of Belarus, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Pakistan, Poland, Serbia, Ukraine, USA and other countries. The event was held in Polish, English and Italian.
The main subjects of the Symposium were: 1) new methods in handwriting and questioned document examination; 2) innovative solutions in polish security printing; 3) contemporary trends in questioned document examination; 4) contemporary trends in handwriting examination; 5) handwriting examination versus graphology; 6) examination of initials and graphometry; 7) pathology in handwriting examination; 8) examination of signatures; 9) specific character of testament examination; 10) control of qualifications of an expert witness; 11) document security features and verification; 12) current issues in questioned document examination (physical and chemical analysis of ink, toner, cross strokes, indented writing); 13) Age of documents (problems with destructive and non-destructive methods).
Participants of XVIII Wroclaw Symposium
On the first day of the Symposium organizers prepared gala opening of the event, plenary session with discussions and coffee breaks. The Symposium was opened by the famous criminalist, ideologist and founder of all the Symposiums of Questioned Document Examination, prof. dr. hab. Zdzislav Kegel and his follower, criminalist, important organizer of the Symposium dr. Rafał Cieśla (Department of Criminalistics of the Faculty of Law, Management and Economics of the University of Wroclaw). The moderators of the plenary session of the first day of the Symposium were prof. dr hab. Tadeusz Widła and prof. dr hab. Antoni Feluś. Scientific reports were given by: prof. dr hab. Antoni Feluś, prof. dr hab. Ewa Gruza, prof. dr Trevor Calafato, prof. dr hab. Jarosław Moszczyński, prof. dr hab. Mieczysław Goc, dr Raymond Marquis, dr. Bart Baggett, prof. dr hab. Valery Shepitko and dr. Mykhaylo Shepitko, etc. At the end of the first day of the Symposium, it was organized gala dinner.
The second day of the Symposium also included a short plenary session. The moderator of the plenary session was prof. dr hab. Mirosław Ovoc. Scientific reports were given by: prof. dr hab. Mirosław Ovoc, prof. Branislav Simonovic, dr. Brian Craythorn, prof. Rajinder Singh and others. In the second half of the day, organizers prepared a tour of Wroclaw, the Oder River, «Topac Castle» and gala dinner.

The third day of the Symposium included a plenary session. The moderators of the plenary session were prof. dr hab. Tadeusz Tomaszewski and prof. dr Henryk Malewski.
